Fractal Design Define 7 Compact PC Case Review

Complete System

Wow, doesn’t that look awesome! I stretched the rules a little bit, as I crammed in an E-ATX motherboard, and while it was a tight fit, it did fit. It looks amazing though, really making the most of the smaller design.

Airflow on the interior is pretty great, the front fan is quite powerful and those huge vents on the side work wonders. Yet, I know the window panel is off, so airflow is plentiful at the moment.

The jet black interior provides a striking contrast for your components too. The RGB lighting on my components really pops.

That large grommet comes in handy for the GPU power cables, plus my 24-pin as I covered half of the normal routing hole with the oversized motherboard, whoops.

GPU clearance clearly isn’t an issue, and there’s a LOT of width here for those rocking really wide cards. Of course, additional liquid cooling hardware will have room here too.

CPU cooler clearance is fantastic too, with lots of space on all sides of the cooler. There’s plenty of room to fit radiators in the top or rear of the case if you wish to go down that route too.

So what about that top panel? Well if you lift it off, you can see there’s a huge dust filter in the top. Oh and a load of noise isolation material on the panel too.

The dust filter is easily removed for cleaning.

Plus, you’ll find an array of 120/140mm spacings for your fans and radiators in the top. What’s even cooler, is this whole panel can be unscrewed for easy case access when building.

Of course, if you’re mounting cooling in the top, you’ll want the alternative panel on there. It opens the case up for much more airflow and it looks pretty kick-ass too.

Overall, Fractal Design has taken one of their best cases yet and put it on a diet. It’s slimmer, leaner, cleaner and generally just awesome.

The tempered glass is great for showing off your build, but with no built-in RGB of its own, it looks cleaner and more grown-up than a lot of the gaming cases on the market right now. I love it.
