Framework Suspends RAM Sales in Its Store and Announces Imminent Price Increases
The memory market continues to face issues due to the recent shortage and rising prices. The manufacturer Framework has now stopped selling standalone RAM in its online Marketplace and announced that prices will soon increase.
The company explained that it has temporarily removed RAM from its store to prevent resellers from exploiting the situation and to reserve inventory for customers who purchase its modular laptops.
Framework Stops Selling RAM Modules on Its Marketplace
According to the company, the RAM market is not in a good position right now. For the moment, the prices have not been changed, but Framework has added a “Coming Soon” sign where the products were previously available.
However, a price increase is inevitable, matching market trends already affecting other hardware components. On its official X (Twitter) account, Framework stated that its suppliers have begun to raise prices, forcing the company to do the same soon.
RAM and NAND Flash memory chips are used in a wide range of electronic devices. RAM modules are among the first to experience price hikes since they are closely tied to these chip types.
Other devices such as smartphones, laptops, and SSD drives also rely on these memory chips, which have become increasingly sought after and expensive.
Experts expect that by 2026, the situation may not improve, and rising component costs could make many electronic products even more expensive.
