GTA 6 is still nowhere in sight, and despite the confirmation that it will be released in 2025, players still have their doubts. In the meantime, it seems we are all still playing good old-fashioned GTA 5, which isn’t a bad thing, especially if you’re on PC, as it’s finally getting a much-needed upgrade that has some much-needed features that console players have had for a while.
GTA V PC
Grand Theft Auto V’s PC upgrade launches on March 4th, focusing on Hao’s Special Works (HSW). HSW introduces new vehicles, performance upgrades, test rides, races, and time trials. Players can also participate in the Wildlife Photography Challenge, track their criminal careers, and enjoy a refreshed Landing Page. New players choosing an Executive, Gunrunner, Nightclub Owner, or Biker career receive a GTA$4,000,000 bonus. Several new vehicles and many existing ones become HSW upgradable. GTA+ members gain special benefits.
Ray Tracing
PC-specific enhancements include ray tracing for ambient occlusion, global illumination, shadows, and reflections. AMD FSR1/FSR3 and NVIDIA DLSS 3 support are included, alongside faster loading times (supported SSDs/DirectStorage), enhanced resolution/aspect ratio/framerate support, DualSense controller support, and improved Dolby Atmos audio with higher fidelity speech, cinematics, and music.
This upgrade will be completely free, so it’s definitely worth checking out. It might even bring me out of my GTA retirement, something I didn’t see happening until GTA 6.
