To be more specific, CRYENGINE 5.2, which is expected to become available this month, will offer complete support for the DirectX12 API, while the upcoming CRYENGINE (5.3), which will be launched mid-October, will fully support Vulkan. Just in case you’re interested in more details, we’ll tell you that version 5.2 will support DX12 Multi-GPU for VR while offering quite a few other features:
DX12 Renderer
As far as version 5.3 goes, it will boast several improvements to its SVOGI tech, and it will offer Vulkan support as well as virtual memory resource management, improved Dynamic Env Probe and Env Probes workflow. All we have to do now is wait for developers to take advantage of these new features in order to deliver nicely optimized and immersive games.
