Pictures from Asia have emerged about a new graphics from Galaxy. In what may be slightly disappointing news this card will only be available to the Asian market, that’s not to say North American and European retailers won’t import large quantities if prospective demand is high enough. As the “Display4” part of the name suggests this is a GTX 550Ti capable of running up to four monitors out of the box, all via the 4 DVI dual link ports on the rear panel. The card uses a third party “IDT VMM 1403” display chip to allow the support for four monitors. It also allows the card to fully utilise the maximum supported resolution of 5760 x 1080 which gives you 1440 x 1080 on four displays or 1920 x 1080 on three displays. In addition to the four DVI mentioned previously there is also a mHDMI slot provided the the third party chip.
Apart from the “Display4 technology” everything else remains relatively standard. You get 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM across a 192Bit interface, a 3+1 phase VRM, 192 CUDA cores and clock speeds of 950 MHz core, 1900 MHz CUDA cores, and 1025 MHz (4.10 GHz effective) memory. Galaxy also uses its “Glaciator” cooler, which makes use of a heat-pipe fed heatsink ventilated by a large central fan and this can can be partially detached to help clean it. Pricing is at about $160.
