Gears of War: E-Day is the next game in The Coalition’s shooter series, taking players back to the early days of the franchise on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Fans can already try the game through its closed beta, which will remain available until August 10.
The beta is already performing very well on Steam
According to SteamDB, Gears of War: E-Day reached a peak of 14,331 concurrent players before the weekend even began. That number could grow even further over the next few days.

More importantly, it is already the highest Steam player peak in the history of the series. Gears of War: Reloaded reached fewer than 5,000 concurrent players, Gears Tactics peaked at 7,351, while Gears 5 previously held the record with just over 10,000 concurrent players.
The achievement is even more impressive because this is only the closed beta, which is available only to players who pre-ordered the game and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, who would not be using Steam. Even so, Gears of War: E-Day has already attracted a great deal of attention.
