GeForce RTX 5050 Appears in Furmark Running at 2,940 MHz
The GeForce RTX 5050 has already received some criticism before its launch. This graphics card has not been free from controversy, and once again, Hardware Unboxed and Gamer Nexus have been leading the charge in criticizing it. However, some of these criticisms do not make sense.
Furmark Test Results
The GeForce RTX 5050 is expected to launch in July, but performance data and other technical specifications have already surfaced from a Furmark test, conducted at a 4K resolution. In the results summary, it shows that the graphics card managed to run the test at 32 FPS, with a score of 1,978.
The GeForce RTX 5050 maintained a clock speed between 2,896 MHz and 2,940 MHz, the lowest and highest recorded during the test. Its TDP was 104%, slightly higher than the base TDP of 130 watts for this card.
Temperature and Performance Concerns
These clock speeds are quite high, but the temperature measurement during the test seems inaccurate. The maximum temperature reported was just 39°C, which seems too low for a graphics card of this caliber operating at those frequencies.
The score of 1,978 points is also quite low, even lower than the GeForce RTX 2060, which doesn’t make sense. The only explanation is that, since the test was conducted at 4K, the PCIe Gen3 interface of the system (tested with an Intel Core i7-9700, which only supports PCIe Gen3) may have created a bottleneck. This is because this graphics card can only utilize 8 PCIe lanes.
Without this bottleneck, its performance should be similar to or slightly lower than that of the GeForce RTX 4060.
