GeIL Unveils World’s First JEDEC Standard 8000 MT/s DDR5 Memory
GeIL has made a significant impact at Computex 2026 by revealing what it claims is the industry’s first DDR5 8000 MT/s memory that fully adheres to JEDEC standards. While enthusiasts are accustomed to high-frequency modules requiring manual BIOS adjustments or the activation of overclocking profiles like XMP or EXPO, these new modules are designed for a genuine plug-and-play experience.
True Plug and Play Performance
By integrating the 8000 MT/s speed directly into the JEDEC Serial Presence Detect (SPD) chip, GeIL allows users to reach these high speeds the moment the system boots. This removes the need for any secondary configuration or technical knowledge of memory timings.
Operating at the standard JEDEC voltage of 1.10 V, these modules offer a balance of high bandwidth and energy efficiency. With timings set at CL64-64-64-128, the kit is positioned as a stable solution for content creators, AI developers, and gamers who want high-end performance without the potential stability hurdles of traditional overclocking.
GeIL AQUARIUS Diamond RGB Aesthetics
In addition to the technical milestone of the JEDEC modules, GeIL also introduced the AQUARIUS Diamond RGB series. This new line is focused on visual appeal, featuring a premium aluminium heatsink available in Graphite Black or Glacier White.
The standout feature of this series is the light bar, which utilises a diamond-cut texture. This design choice is intended to create a specific refraction of light across the RGB LEDs, offering a different aesthetic compared to the standard smooth light bars found on most modern memory kits. As with their other high-end lines, GeIL subjects these modules to a rigorous internal testing process to ensure signal integrity during intensive workloads.
Platform Compatibility and Specifications
The new 8000 MT/s modules are specifically optimised for the latest hardware, including the Intel 15th Generation platform. This covers the Core Ultra 270K Plus, 265K, and 245K processors when used with Z890 and B860 motherboards. GeIL has also confirmed it is working with partners to ensure these modules remain a viable foundation for upcoming next-generation platforms.
