Gelid Solutions GX-7 CPU Cooler Review

Gelid Solutions are a company we have worked with in the past, we reviewed their excellent Icy Vision VGA cooler. The standard, in terms of my expectations have been set high because of that product, but we won’t let pre-determined ideas get in the way of making a fair review. As usual we will be taking the Gelid GX-7 and judging it in terms of performance, acoustics, design, price and functionality (mainly ease of mounting).

The GX-7 has a very “sports car-esque” look going on with its unique plastic vent design at the top, which you can see on the “A Closer Look” page. It also boasts a double stacked set of heat pipes totalling to 7, which it claims offers much better thermal performance than a traditional single stacking of heat pipes – however we’ll let the performance figures show you if this claim is true or not.

We don’t want to bore you with specifications, so if you are interested in checking those out then you can visit here for those.

so will i be able to use the vengeance RAM the,or low profile ones the only way?

    • Hi Kieran, if you have Vengeance modules, you will be able to have them in RAM Slots #2, #3 and #4. In effect this means you can only run two modules, in slots #2 and #4 as the pair in slot #1 and #3 will not fit because of slot one being blocked. Put simply two Vengeance modules will fit, if you want four modules low profile is the only way.

      Hope this helps.
