Getting “Back to School” Ready With MSI Cubi N

A Closer Look – MSI Pro MP242C

What good is a mini PC without a monitor? Sure, you may already have one, or you may want to use your CUBI with your TV. However, I thought pairing it with this lovely MSI Pro MP242C would be ideal. Not only is this monitor only £99, but it’s also brimming with features that make it well suited to a small workspace. Firstly, it looks superb, with a 24″ design and superbly slim bezels, it’s going to be easy to place around your home.

What’s interesting, is that for its size, it actually has a gentle 1500R curve, which I was worried was going to look silly on a small monitor like this, but honestly, it feels very natural to use. Albeit, that is the point of the 1500R curve, it’s meant to be a more natural viewing experience.

The monitor has a small stand, with some basic tilt features. While it doesn’t rotate on the stand, it doesn’t need to, it weighs so little you can simply turn the whole thing. See, facing one way.

Now the other.

Around the back, it’s got an HDMI port, CGA, audio jack, and power port. All nice and straight forward really.

It also has a joystick control, which is fantastic to use compared to classic monitor buttons, which often drive me nuts.

The most important part, however, is the VESA mount. Sure, you could add your own stand or a wall mount. However, the CUBI is VESA compatible too. That’s right, we can mount the PC on the back of the monitor, and save on desktop space, so that’s what we shall do!

Neat and tidy.

Now with cables, looks a bit messy, but wait…

Turn it around, and honestly, it’s pretty clean, especially if you’re using wireless peripherals.
