Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 Confirmed for Release in Sony’s Next Fiscal Year

Many were hoping to see Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach during last night’s State of Play, but neither was shown. However, Sony confirmed that both games are expected to release within the next fiscal year, between April 2025 and March 2026. The company has high expectations for both the upcoming games and profits.
Absence of Death Stranding 2 from State of Play

The absence of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach from the event was clear, especially after the announcement of its own dedicated presentation event scheduled for March 2025. This indicates that a specific release date may be revealed at that time.
In commenting on Sony’s financial results (thanks Push Square), which showed strong sales for the PS5 in the last quarter, company president Hiroki Totoki emphasized that the next fiscal year, starting in a couple of months, holds promising prospects.
Big Games for the Upcoming Fiscal Year
While the State of Play was lighter than expected in terms of exclusives and first-party games, Sony is looking forward to big releases throughout 2025.
Totoki reiterated that Sony has major first-party and third-party games lined up for the next fiscal year. Notable titles include Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2, both slated for release between April 2025 and March 2026, with more precise release date announcements to follow.
“As for the next fiscal year (April 2025 to March 2026), first-party [and] third-party, we expect very good titles coming out,” Totoki added. “So, we have a high expectation for the performance of the next fiscal year.”
