Gigabyte Accidentally Ships RTX 5060 Ti With Radeon Branding
Gigabyte is facing criticism from the community after a buyer reported receiving a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with a cooler carrying the “Radeon” branding.
The case was shared on Reddit by user u/atta4821, who bought the graphics card from Canada Computers. After opening the package, the buyer noticed that the backplate clearly showed the “GeForce RTX” name, while the side of the cooler displayed the “Radeon” logo.
Buyer Receives RTX 5060 Ti With “Radeon” Logo by Mistake
Despite the strange mix-up, the card still worked correctly as an RTX 5060 Ti and there were no performance problems.
The mistake likely happened at Gigabyte’s factories, where the company often uses shared shroud designs for both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. Because some parts are interchangeable, a shroud piece meant for a Radeon GPU may have accidentally been installed on a GeForce card during assembly.
This is also not the first time something like this has happened. Another user reportedly received a Radeon RX 9060 XT months ago with a cooler that carried the “GeForce” branding.
Even though the issue does not affect how the cards work, the incident has raised questions about the company’s quality control. For some buyers, this kind of mistake can be confusing, while others may see these unusual models as rare collector’s items.
In the end, the RTX 5060 Ti with a Radeon shroud shows how even a small detail can affect how users view a product. Gigabyte will likely need to improve its production process to prevent similar mistakes in the future.
