Gigabyte Announces The New Budget-Friendly Sabre 15 Laptop at CES 2017

As part of Gigabyte’s latest laptop line-up, the company has developed a model which targets a very accessible price point. The Sabre 15 is a no-frills device which provides a decent gaming experience thanks to the GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 Ti. Despite being a budget-orientated product, the laptop employs a 4-core/8-thread Kaby Lake i7-7700HQ processor, DDR4 2400MHz memory up to 32GB and loads of storage. Rather interestingly, the laptop doesn’t come with Gigabyte’s per-key RGB backlighting which is deployed on the premium AORUS products. The backlighting is still pretty good for a laptop of this ilk and looks very similar to MSI’s lighting solution. This is probably because the lighting element is made in the same factory.
On another note, the Sabre 15 supports USB 3.1 Type-C and devices up to 5V/3A. There’s also HDMI 2.0 to connect the machine to a 4K display at a 60Hz refresh rate. Even though the device has a fairly bland, generic aesthetic and doesn’t look particular unique, this shouldn’t be a concern for those looking for a gaming laptop under the £900 mark. Honestly, the specification is pretty decent for the money and I can see the Sabre 15 being a great choice for consumers on a sensible budget.
