Gigabyte CMP 30HX Mining Card Pictured!

It was just three weeks ago that Nvidia announced their dedicated mining graphics cards. Rather than delivering a card that can be used for gaming, these are meant to take the load away from the gaming market. They don’t feature video outputs or anything like that, which can also mean the cards are less expensive to product (well, I would assume so, at least). It also means that gamers will be able to spot 2nd hand mining cards like this much easier.

The first one to be pictured is the Gigabyte CMP 30HX, and no doubt it’s the first of many dedicated mining GPUs we’ll be seeing in the coming weeks, and throughout 2021.

Gigabyte CMP 30HX

The new Gigabyte CMP 30HX is the lowest SKU in the new CMP series. We don’t have pictures of the higher-end models just yet though, but again, I’m sure they’ll come in good time. This model features the TU116-100 GPU, 6GB of GDDR6 memory, and no doubt a similar CUDA core count to the 1660 or 1660 SUPER cards; 1280 – 1408.

The card has a TDP of 125W, and will be capable of around 26 MH/s in Ethereum mining; similar to the RTX 3060 with the anti-mining algorithm. How popular these cards are, remains to be seen. I’ve long said that there’s a risk these will be bought up alongside the gaming cards. However, the anti-mining technology they’re rolling out hasn’t been out for long, and it has still to prove its self.

Price and Availability

As for the pricing and release date, we’re not sure, but it shouldn’t be long until we do!
