With speed binned GPUs the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 980 is almost obliged to clock higher than the stock model. Without a doubt it did, gaining a final overclock of 1378/1479 compared to the 1347/1436MHz of the reference model. The memory also went a little higher to 2065MHz instead of 2015 MHz on the reference model. When we look at actual clock speeds it operated even higher at 1516MHz on the core and under our extended Unigine Heaven OC stability test it didn’t even exceed 65 degrees celsius! Check out how the stock GTX 980 overclocked in its review right here.
Gigabyte’s G1 Gaming GTX 980 4GB graphics card comes top of all our overclocked tests by about a 5% margin over the OC reference GTX 780.
