Gigabyte has announced its new GAMING GM power supply series, which comes with a new protection system called T-Guard.
These power supplies are designed as the “hardware guardian ,” meaning they are not only meant to provide power to the PC, but also to protect all components and keep them safe.
The main new feature in this series is the T-Guard technology, a temperature monitoring system designed for the new 12V-2×6 connectors. Unlike traditional protections, this system works in three stages.

First, it detects temperature using precise sensors that monitor the connector in real time. Then it protects the system by reducing power only to the GPU if overheating is detected, which can happen if the cable is not properly connected. This allows the rest of the system to stay on and prevents damage to other components like storage drives. Finally, it allows the user to reconnect, meaning they can switch to integrated graphics to save their work safely before checking the issue.
The GAMING GM series is not only focused on safety, but also on efficiency. These power supplies have Cybenetics ETA Platinum certification and 80 PLUS Gold, which means low energy waste. Gigabyte also claims that noise levels are very low, below 20 dBA, thanks to a 135 mm fan with FDB bearing that can stop completely under low load.
To avoid user mistakes, Gigabyte uses a dual-color cable design on the 12V-2×6 connector. If the color is visible, it means the cable is not fully connected.
These power supplies include 100% Japanese capacitors, support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, and come with a 10-year warranty. The series is available in 750W, 850W, and 1000W models, in both black and silver colors.
