Gigabyte Launches WaterForce AIO Liquid Cooled RTX Cards

All-in-One Liquid-Cooled RTX 2080 Ti

In addition to having a pre-waterblocked WaterForce RTX graphics cards, Gigabyte is also launching RTX video cards with Water-Force all-in-one (AIO) liquid coolers. These will carry a similar WaterForce name and will be under the high-end gaming AORUS branding. Like the pre-waterblocked version, users will be able to choose between an RTX 2080 and an RTX 2080 Ti.

Gigabyte is no stranger to releasing such options, which are convenient choices for those who do not have a custom loop. Unlike regular water-blocks, this new AORUS Xtreme WaterForce AIO variant requires no maintenance. Except clearing out the dust on the fans once in a while. Unlike EVGA which uses a fan onboard the PCB itself to cool the VRM, Gigabyte uses an integrated large cooling plate to liquid cool the components with the GPU.

This liquid takes the heat from the GPU core and the components and transports it through the 240mm radiator. The RGB LED fans on the radiator then push the hot air out so that the now cooler water can pass through the cycle once more.

In addition to the cooling cooper base plate, Gigabyte also incorporates a metal back plate for the assembly. Providing weight distribution and prevents the PCB from sagging over time. It also helps with absorbing some of the heat from the onboard components.

These AORUS WaterForce WB cards use custom designed PCBs. The Xtreme RTX 2080 Ti for example has has a 16+3 phase VRM, while the RTX 2080 uses a 12+2 phase design. This allows for comfortable overclocking headroom, further pushing their default clock rates. Which of course are already factory-overclocked to begin with.

The Xtreme RTX 2080 WaterForce has clock speeds of 1890 MHz (Reference card: 1710 MHz). Meanwhile, the Xtreme RTX 2080 Ti WaterForce runs at 1770 MHz (Reference card: 1545 MHz). Both come with a 4-year warranty after registration.

What Kind of Connectivity Options are Available?

Like both AORUS Xtreme RTX video cards previously announced, these units with AIO come with comprehensive display output connectors in the rear. It has three HDMI, three DisplayPorts and one USB-C port, for a total of seven different options.
