Gigabyte Releases Low Profile GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti

With the low-end cards, there is always an attraction to shrinking them down to fit small form factor builds. While most cards can be shrunk a bit on the height, most of the savings generally come on the length. The exception are low profile cards that really can fit anything but are limited to lower end GPUs due to cooling restrictions. Gigabyte has just launched 2 new low profiles graphics cards based on the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050.

Sharing the same board design, the cards feature a half-height PCB 16.7 cm long with a dual-slot cooling solution running the whole length. The cooler is a monolithic copper-core aluminum heatsink ventilated by a single fan. Despite the small size, and likely due to the double slot configuration, the Gigabyte has managed to ship the cards with minor factory-overclocked speeds. Both cards draw their entire power supply from the PCIe slot.

Both cards feature the GP107 die on Nvidia’s latest Pascal architecture. The GTX 1050 Ti low-profile card clocks in at 1303 MHz core, and 1417 MHz  Boost ( 1290/1393 MHz reference). For the GTX 1050 Low-profile,  the core clocks in at 1366 MHz with boost up to 1468 MHz (1354/1455 MHz reference). No pricing information has been revealed just yet. With low profile done now, all we have to wait for are low profile single slot designs for those really tiny builds.
