Gigabyte M27Q 170Hz 1440p FreeSync KVM Monitor Review

Gigabyte has created some very impressive gaming monitors over the last few years, and it looks like they’ve done it again with the M27Q! It’s packing some pretty impressive features that should really make it stand out from the crowd. For starters, it’s what they claim to be “the worlds first KVM gaming monitor” and which they say “allows you to control multiple devices via one set of keyboard, video and mouse. With our exclusive KVM button, you’ll find switching devices cannot be any easier! Quick like a snap!” and that’s awesome if you’re hooking up more than one computer. Simply plug in your keyboard and mouse to the monitor, and you can use them to control either computer at the flick of a switch! Honestly, as someone who deals with test benches a lot… this is a pretty cool feature!

Gigabyte M27Q – The Worlds First KVM Gaming Monitor

Of course, there’s a lot more too it than faster device switching. It features an IPS panel, which can deliver a 170Hz refresh rate on its QHD 2560×1440 panel. It has a response time of just 0.5ms (MPRT), VESA certified HDR400, FreeSync Premium as well as Adaptive-Sync. It’s really ticking all the right boxes for a great gaming monitor. Of course, being an IPS panel, colour reproduction and contrast should be excellent, delivering 9‎2% DCI-P3 / 140% sRGB, 350 cd/m2 brightness, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. OK, that’s enough of the boring numbers, almost, so let’s dive in for a closer look at what it has to offer.

Features

  • KVM Powerful Cross-platform control
  • 8-bit IPS, 95% DCI-P3 / 130% sRGB
  • Mobile devices charging friendly
  • Classic Tactical Features
  • FreeSync Premium & Adaptive-Sync
  • Low Blue Light & Flicker-Free
