Thermals are a key point to any GPU, as it allows it to boost for a prolonged amount of time and depending on the task that’s being performed, thermals can be either higher or lower.. Lower temperatures in gameplay are a good indication we can overclock the card more. Higher temperatures mean the graphics cards are likely not hitting their peak boost clocks long enough and may need more cooling or even underclocking.
Now with the RTX 30 series being quite warm, especially the RTX 3090 which seemed to struggle with heat more due to the design choice of memory placement, we have to talk about heat and to be fair, the Gaming OC does a pretty impressive job. We know that it has a lot more power in terms of physicality, and in terms of performance, but only manages to get around 2% warmer than the RTX 3090 Ti, so I’ll chalk that up as a big win.
