Gigabyte X99-Ultra Gaming LGA2011-3 Motherboard Review

SATA, M.2 and USB Performance

Linear Read

The motherboard’s M.2 performance is absolutely fantastic and isn’t too far away from breaking the 800MB/s barrier. As you can see, this is a major improvement compared to its closest competitor. The SATA read rate wasn’t as impressive but it’s still a commendable result. Also, the USB 3.0 read rate was really close to 300MB/s and within the area, I’d expect.

Linear Write

Here we can see, the motherboard maintains a very fast M.2 write rate and once again comes out on top. Saying that, the SATA and USB 3.0 write speeds could be improved slightly to ensure the motherboard reigns supreme while using various protocols.
