Glorious PC Gaming Race Model O Ultralight Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Glorious PC Gaming Race Model O is available right now from OCUK. The wired RGB white or black versions are £51.95, while the glossy versions are on sale at just £42.95, but otherwise would cost about the same. There’s also a wireless model for £89.99. Check out the entire range here.

Overview

This mouse really hits all the marks I was hoping it would. However, while I know it’s been on the market for a while now, I am new to this one. So while it may have been one of the fastest and lightest on the market when it launched, it’s now just one of many broadly similar mice that have since copied the same idea. That doesn’t diminish it one bit though, it is extremely light, and few mice can beat it in terms of weight and fewer while still retaining a mouse of this size and build quality too.

The mesh design looks superb, and while it does shed weight, it still retains the strength of the shell too, making the Model O surprisingly robust. However, other measures have been taken to shed weight. The switches, the cables, the PCB, it’s all trimmed down to use fewer materials rather than waste them. If anything, it likely makes this mouse a little greener, as it simply uses fewer resources, and I like that.

The one thing they didn’t trim is the performance. The included sensor is as glorious as the rest of the mouse. It tracks pixel perfect throughout the entire DPI range. I certainly couldn’t throw it off track no matter how fast I moved it. The ultra-low lift-off height is a nice touch too, as combined with the low weight, a low DPI and lift-off technique is easy to perform.

I like the choice of black and white, but also love that you can have it in a matte finish or glossy finish. For me, the matte white is the best, but that’s subjective, and I’m sure you have a personal preference too. The RGB looks stunning, vibrant and with good effects, without being too over the top. Don’t worry, you can turn the lights off when you want to too.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re looking for a competitive gaming mouse that’s packed full of features and tuned for lightening fast performance, this is the mouse for you. It’s got a cool brand name, great style, it’s comfortable, and it’s competitively priced too. Highly recommended.
