All of these peripherals are competitively priced, with all three available for a combined £216.04, which is a lot of money, but for all three? I think that’s pretty reasonable!
MSI is well-known for its gaming hardware, albeit that reputation is largely built on PC hardware, such as its high-end graphics cards and motherboards. However, they’ve been making good ground in the peripherals market, and it’s good to see that their peripherals have an aesthetic that matches that of their latest gaming chairs, monitors, cases and so much more. Brand identity is important, especially if you’re a fan of a brand and want to invest in more than one of MSI’s products to unify your gaming space.
The keyboard is really interesting, with a TKL design it’s very compact and that makes it great for those with limited desktop space, but generally, it also clears up a lot of your desktop space, allowing you more room for your mouse, which I like as I’m typically a low DPI gamer.
The keyboard also has some really unique switches, they’re nothing like Cherry or the usual Cherry clones we see from Kailh. However, as strange as they feel, I do like them. They’re really clicky and light, which is great for speed and accuracy, but the trade-off is that if you don’t like the sound of clicky switches, these ones are rather loud.
The mouse is awesome too, I love that it can be used wired or wireless, plug the choice of charging it directly with the cable or the handy stand that it comes with is really handy, giving you plenty of choice. About the only thing it is missing is Bluetooth connectivity, which would really complete the connectivity setup. However, performance is king, and with it being so lightweight and with that killer 20,000 DPI PixArt sensor, it’s a pretty killer mouse for competitive gaming.
Finally, we have the headset, with its powerful 40mm drivers, this thing really rocks. I’m a bit of a bass junky, so the powerful sound and that haptic mode really give it some extra thump when you need it. I did think it was overkill while gaming, but for kicking back and watching a movie or listening to some music it was pretty rocking.
Which one of these peripherals is right for you? One of them, all of them? It’s hard to say. The headset is great for its connectivity options, so it’ll work on multiple devices. The mouse is fast and smooth, making it great for virtually any kind of gaming. The only contentious one is the keyboard, which I like, but the unique design, key caps and clicky switches won’t be for everyone but are fantastic for gameplay.
