A great day for Linux fans today as Good Old Games (GOG.com) have launched their Linux titles ahead of their original Autumn launch, adding more than 50 classic DRM free titles to the platform.

There are over 50 games available from GOG that have never been available on Linux before, that is of course excluding those who used emulators or similar tricks to get the software to run themselves. The titles added include the iconic racer FlatOut, Darklands, Realms of the Hunting, Gods Will Be Watching and a whole lot more (complete list below).

“We’re still aiming to have at least 100 Linux games in the coming months, but we’ve decided not to delay the launch just for the sake of having a nice-looking number to show off to the press. It’s not about them, after all, it’s about you. So, one of the most popular site feature requests on our community wishlist is granted today: Linux support has officially arrived on GOG.com!” said GOG in a recent statement.

Distro-independent tar.gz archives and DEB installers will be made available for Ubuntu and Mint, and GOG’s helpdesk will be providing Linux support from today onwards.
