Reports are coming in that Grand Theft Auto 5 may miss it’s late 2014 release date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The exactly release date has yet to be revealed and this late in the year, especially given that E3 and Gamecom are now behind us, alarm bells are starting to ring that the game is delayed.
“If it’s gonna be this year, you want to build the hype up a good few months before the game comes out, and there isn’t much of the year left,” said James Jarvis, producer and editor at CVG. “If the previews don’t happen really soon, there’s a possibility we won’t be seeing ‘GTA 5’ on new-gen, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, until next year.”
Rockstar know how to build hype up for their games, they’ll “leak” information, play the social media game, have previews, gameplay footage and more as they build up to the reveal date of their game and at the moment there really isn’t a lot of this happening.
Delays are expected on a game of this size, there is a lot of work to go over and there are plenty of new tweaks and features being added to the game, especially the PC release, to make this more than just another HD re-buff of a last gen release.
