Grand Theft Auto V Has Configs For PC & PlayStation 4 On The Disc

Grand Theft Auto V might not even be out yet, but that hasn’t stopped it being torrented like crazy on sites like thepiratebay, and while that isn’t something I recommend I can’t help but pay attention to the most interesting bit of gaming information I’ve seen all week, more proof that GTA V will indeed be heading to PlayStation 4 and PC.

Hackers, crackers, people with too much spare time, you name it, they’ve all been digging into the games file structure and decoding their little hearts out. For their efforts they found an XML configuration file that contains the game engine configuration settings on a per platform basis. This is a fairly common thing for multi platform game engines, but its the list of platforms that raises our eyebrows.

Obviously the game is listed in the XML with settings for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 yet we also see there is Orbis (PlayStation 4 Dev Kit OS name) and PC. Now could this be fake, absolutely! This is the internet afterall, but personally I highly doubt it is fake, 2000 lines of code faked? Possible, but unlikely and it is not uncommon for games to have this file listing all the systems the game runs on.

This is one leak that will raise a lot of interest, but if it isn’t obvious that Rockstar are just playing it quiet about a next-gen and PC release at this time then you’ve got your eyes closed and fingers in your ears. Not only does all demonstrated footage of GTA look nothing like the actual game (in engine), we’ve seen high resolution gameplay footage that just isn’t possible on current gen. Add to that that Amazon Germany leaked the PC and PS4 versions, IGN even reported that the PC edition cropped up on Amazon France for a while. It is out there, it is or has been worked upon for these platforms, the big question is, will we as consumers ever get to see them?

Thank you CinemaBlend for providing us with this information.

Since RockStar are on a take down notice killing spree, I have not linked to the original image of the XML source code, please refer to the article source for this information.
