GT Omega Gaming Pro Office Chair Review

A Closer Look and Performance

Over the years I have assembled many office chairs and as such, I am a bit of a dab hand at it. Regardless of this though I would consider this GT Omega Racing Pro Office Chair one of the easiest I have had to do for quite some time. It’s design has been simplified to the point that its almost intuitive.

The vast majority of the connecting bolts are already fitted to the chair or base. So rather than having a big daunting bag of bolts to worry over, it’s fairly self-explanatory what goes where. The first main step is connecting the back to the chair which is quickly done with 4 bolts (2 on each side) and then 1 screw on each side (the only loose screws in the whole set-up) to attach the plastic arm cover. The fact that they have kept the parts to a minimum is a nice touch. There’s nothing quite as terrifying as a big bag of screws.

From there you will want to attach the wheels to the 5 spindle base and then attach that to the bottom of the base of the chair itself. Again, the bolts are already attached and a handy sticker indicates the right way around. Another indication again of the care taken to create a fool-proof design.

Following that, simply insert the base into the wheels, attach your cushions (if you wish) and you’re ready to go. You have two cushions supplied for head and lower back support. The cushions attach via simple clips. The base clips perhaps look a little clumsy when fitted, but do not detract from the overall nice design.

My only recommendation during set-up is that you have a nice wide open space. In addition, given the covering material and manoeuvring necessary, you might want to just take some time and care in your set-up to ensure you do not cause any scuffs to the covering material. It’s built to last, but it’s not indestructable either.

The chair does come with 2 cushions attachable by simply clip on straps. Personally, I was happy using the chair with or without these. As such would deem their necessity a pleasant addition, but a matter of personal preference.

The chair does not have an adjustable headrest. However, it is not uncommon for a product within this price range. It does, however, have adjustable armrests for both height, angle, and extension.

This means you shouldn’t struggle to find a comfortable position to work or game from. As with many office chairs, this has an overall height adjust which operates entirely as you would expect. In a factor getting to be more associated with gaming chairs, it does also have a ‘soft-tilt’ feature. This allows you a semi-recline while the firmness to the support of your back is maintained.
