Almost everyone is waiting for new information about GTA 6, especially the much-anticipated second trailer for the game. Many rumors and theories have been swirling around it, but according to a former Rockstar Games employee, there’s no need for another trailer at all.
Obbe Vermeijm, a technical director who worked with Rockstar for many years, shared his thoughts about the need for another trailer. He believes it is completely unnecessary.
His comments came during a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), in celebration of the 17th anniversary of GTA 4. He discussed the new chapter of the series and how it will be the next big global event in gaming.
Is It Better to Focus on the Element of Surprise?
“If it was my call I wouldn’t release any additional trailers,” Vermeijm said about the upcoming game from Rockstar Games. “There is more than enough hype around VI and the element of surprise is going to make the release only bigger as an event.”
Since the official announcement trailer in 2023, Rockstar Games has shared very little else about GTA 6, but this hasn’t stopped the game from becoming one of the most anticipated and highly discussed titles. This really supports Vermeijm’s point.
Even so, it’s highly likely that the team and publisher Take-Two will release at least one more trailer before the game’s launch, which is still expected to happen this year.
