GTA 6 Marketing to Start This Summer Ahead of Launch
Following the recent delay, the release of GTA 6 is no longer as close as once expected. However, for a project of this scale, the marketing campaign needs to begin well in advance. This explains why Rockstar and Take-Two are planning to start promotional activities in the coming months.
According to information shared during Take-Two Interactive’s latest financial call, the official marketing campaign for GTA 6 will begin this summer, during the third quarter of 2026. More precise details are expected to be announced later.
Even though GTA 6 already has massive public attention, marketing remains a key part of preparing for the launch of such a major title.
Marketing Will Begin Well Ahead of Launch
GTA 6 is expected to be a global, mass-market release, aimed not only at core gamers but also at a wider audience that may not closely follow gaming news. For this reason, advertising, promotional initiatives, and communication will play a central role in the months leading up to release.
Take-Two is therefore planning a long-term marketing strategy that will begin several months before launch, which is currently set for November 19, 2026, unless another delay is announced.
“Our execution throughout fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach fiscal 2027—which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry—led by the November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this summer,” Take-Two said in an official statement to IGN (thanks Gematsu).
With marketing set to ramp up soon, it is likely that new trailers, updates, and official announcements for GTA 6 will start appearing over the next few months.
In other news, Russian officials and religious figures called for a ban on GTA 6 ahead of its release.
