Rockstar parent Take-Two has trademarked ‘GTA TV’ and ‘Rockstar TV’, possibly hinting at extensive trans-media promotion for Grand Theft Auto V.
Earlier this month Take-Two said that GTA V is “making great progress” and that we can expect to hear more about the game in the coming months.
Could we see some GTA-themed TV programming released leading up to and around the game’s launch? Some sort of promotional web series? Your guess is as good as ours.
The trademarks cover a wide range of possibilities, with listings mentioning the following:
“computer game programs and software; animated motion picture films featuring entertainment, namely, action, adventure, dramatic, comedic, children’s and documentary themes; pre-recorded video discs and other pre-recorded digital and electronic media in the field of live action programs, motion pictures, or animation featuring entertainment, namely, action, adventure, dramatic, comedic, children’s and documentary themes.”
