Halo: Campaign Evolved may not have made a big impact with PlayStation players yet, but its Xbox launch has been much stronger so far. Based on the latest figures, Halo remains one of Xbox’s biggest franchises.
According to the Xbox Top 40 chart, Halo: Campaign Evolved was the biggest Xbox game during its launch week, beating the numbers recorded during its earlier Early Access period.
Halo: Campaign Evolved Enjoys Record-Breaking Xbox Launch
Even so, it is important to note that Halo: Campaign Evolved is only the second biggest Xbox launch of 2026 so far. The full release reached 62% of the player count that Forza Horizon 6 achieved when it launched in May.
Despite that, Halo: Campaign Evolved had a much stronger launch than any other Xbox game released this year. The remake attracted 93.4% more Xbox players than Subnautica 2, which had previously been the second most popular Xbox launch of 2026.
In other Halo news, Microsoft has reportedly canceled Project Ekur, a Halo multiplayer game that was being developed in Unreal Engine 5 after the Halo Infinite Battle Royale project ended. In addition, Microsoft could move the Halo franchise to Activision as part of a major overhaul aimed at reviving the iconic series.
