HAVN BF 360 PC Case Review

A Closer Look – Exterior

There are two versions of this case, a darker and lighter model. Obviously, I have the lighter one in for testing this week! It looks amazing too, there’s no RGB, no flashy lights at all. What you do get is that crisp and clean exterior with a truly stunning front panel design that allows for significant amounts of airflow throughout the case.

The left side panel features a large tempered glass window, with a bit of a wider steel border, ensuring the PSU shroud, as well as the top and front fittings, are slightly obscured for a cleaner aesthetic.

It’s interesting to see a slightly more enclosed case, as many case brands are going for multiple larger windows to show off your hardware. Not that this looks bad, I actually really like the more traditional look of the HAVN, but it’s done so with purpose; performance and cooling are the primary focus here, aesthetics is a very close second.

The front panel design is truly incredible, with a seemingly floating panel that looks like marble columns. We actually thought this was a post-consumer plastic part, but it’s actually a special compound designed for its rigidity and aesthetics.

But having those uninterrupted columns running from the top to the bottom of the case is impressive; it’s such a clean look, and most importantly, it maximises the airflow intake too. I love the little details too, such as the rolled edges on the intakes, the floating design of the panel, and the stylish inlaid HAVN logo. Just makes me think “now let’s see Paul Allen’s case…”

If it wasn’t already obvious, I have the BF 360 Flow, which comes with two absolutely monstrous fans in the front (and one more in the back).

The front panel is actually quite thick, as it integrates those air channels, but also a secondary layer to house a dust filter.

Being able to lift it out for quick and easy maintenance is certainly welcome, especially when those big fans can move a lot of air per hour, even at lower RPM, this case could quickly start feeling like an HVAC system if you have a dusty house, but of course, the filter is there to keep it out of the PC!

Then we have the fans, and they’re absolute units. Measuring in at 180mm, and even more incredible, they’re 40mm thick. Given that normal fans are 20mm thick and “thick” fans are typically 30mm, it should really give you some idea of just how monstrous these fans actually are. But we’ll come back to those shortly.

Down the right side, it’s just a flat panel flush-mounted into the case, a simple and clean design that gets the job done. I do like that the top and bottom edges of the case are curved, as are the corners; there aren’t many hard corners to be found here.

Up on the top, we see a continuation of the long vent design found on the front panel. However, this one is made up of steel, rather than an additional composite panel like the front panel.

Towards the front, there is an I/O panel featuring an audio jack, USB Type-C, a pair of USB 3 ports, and the power button, with all their inner fixings finished a grey plastic to match the aesthetics of the case.

The back looks amazing, and really shows just how focused this case is on airflow. There’s a lot of ventilation here, with those long ovals cut into the steel, ensuring the case stays strong, but also easily allowing heat to be exhausted.

Towards the top, there’s a pre-installed 140mm fan, but the mount can also support a 120mm fan if that is what you desire; keep in mind, this case is available with no pre-installed fans.

The fans are mounted with these durable anti-vibration rubber grommets, a nice little detail. The side panels are flush-mounted to the case and screwed shut. However, there’s a handy recess here to allow you to get your fingers behind it to remove it, and even a rubber grip in there to make it a little easier.

There are seven expansion slots, each with a heavily ventilated design, and all crafted and painted to match the premium quality we see throughout the rest of the case.

Towards the bottom, you’ll find the PSU mount, which comes with an extra-long slide-out dust filter for easy cleaning and maintenance. There are also some rubber isolation pads in there to prevent the PSU from sitting against the steel of the case.
