HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo

Power Consumption
With the recent launch of AMD Fusion, everyone is obsessing with low wattage machines whether it be the motherboard or the components that marry with it. Graphics cards are no exception to this, as manufacturer’s do everything in their power to squeeze as much performance out as physically possible, whilst maintaining a low power draw.

For this test, we used a plug-in electricity monitor which gives us the total system power draw at the wall socket, which then enables us to compare with other cards by using the same components throughout the testing phase.

We measure the power draw at an idle state with the CPU ranging from 0% – 2% performance, and then run FurMark to simulate 100% load onto the GPU that we’re testing. We then measure the power draw at this state to give a comparison.
