Hitman: World of Assassination to Introduce Cross-Progression Across 10 Platforms
It doesn’t matter where you play — soon you’ll be able to carry your assassin career seamlessly across nearly every platform. IO Interactive has announced a major update for Hitman: World of Assassination that introduces cross-progression support between ten different systems.
The news was shared on the official Hitman social channels to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Hitman 3’s launch, which later evolved into the unified World of Assassination edition. The update is set to arrive on February 3rd.
Progression Shared Across All Major Platforms
Once players download and install the update, they’ll be able to sync their progress across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, iOS, and PC versions available through Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
IO Interactive explained, “Since the release of HITMAN World of Assassination, it has been our wish to enable this feature for players to be able to carry on their in-game progression, whatever the device you play on.”
This means players can switch between console and PC without losing progress. The system ensures a smooth transition for those who enjoy the game on multiple devices.
While challenges, unlocked gear, trophies, and Freelancer mode progress will transfer freely, there is one limitation. Downloadable content (DLC) will only be accessible on the platforms where it was originally purchased.
IO Interactive clarified, “To access specific locations, missions, or DLC items on another platform, you must own that content on that platform. If you do not own a piece of content on a platform, you will not have access to it, or its associated unlocks there, even if you unlocked them elsewhere.”
