Hollow Knight: Silksong Announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Hollow Knight: Silksong has been officially announced for Nintendo Switch 2 by Team Cherry. The new version of the game will launch in 2026 and will be available as a free upgrade for all players who already own the Nintendo Switch edition.
Improved Visuals and Performance
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Hollow Knight won’t just be a simple technical port. It will include all the updates and improvements seen in the latest version of Silksong for Nintendo’s new hybrid console.
Specifically, the game will feature higher frame rates, increased resolutions, and new visual effects designed to enhance the hand-drawn art style that has always defined the world of Hallownest.
Team Cherry’s announcement also coincides with the news that Hollow Knight: Silksong has sold seven million copies. In addition, the game will receive a free expansion called Sea of Sorrow sometime next year.
Coming to More Platforms
The announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition also came alongside the reveal of Silksong’s upcoming expansion. But that’s not all — the original Hollow Knight will also arrive on other current-generation platforms.
Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will get an updated version of the game as well. On PC, the update will include ultrawide resolution support, various quality-of-life improvements, and an update to the Unity Input System to ensure better compatibility with modern controllers.
