Horizon Forbidden West Was Cracked Only 30 Seconds After its Launch on PC

The other day, Horizon Forbidden West’s PC port was launched and generally it has been well received currently with very positive reviews on Steam. Now as with many big games, you have those who buy them, and those that pirate and Horizon Forbidden West is no exception to this with what can only be described as a speed run attempt at cracking the game.

Horizon Forbidden West Cracked In Under 30 Seconds

According to PC Focus (Via thegamer.com), Horizon Forbidden West was cracked in just 30 seconds after it’s release on Steam which is quite impressive. They claim a program named Fairlight which is used to bypass Steam’s protection was utilised to crack the game and it worked very quickly as the game only utilises Steam DRM and doesn’t utilise any third party DRM such as the controversial Denuvo.

Developers will constantly be fighting against piracy but they’ll never be able to stop it, especially if DRM techniques can be bypassed this easily. With Denuvo’s reputation for performance issues, it’s a wonder why they even bother implementing DRM if it’s going to be cracked anyway, especially at the cost of making the game experience worse.
