HP Unveils Two New DreamColor Displays

HP has revealed a new pair of monitors in its DreamColor range – described by the company as the “gold standard for color accuracy” – set for launch later this year. The two displays – the high-end HP DreamColor Z31x Studio and the entry-level HP DreamColor Z24x G2 Display – are aimed at visual artists for use with workstations and, as such, boast colour-critical accuracy and edge-to-edge colour and luminescence consistency.

The HP DreamColor Z31x Studio is a 31.1-inch screen that features a Cinema 4K (4096×2160) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour depth, 178o horizontal/vertical viewing angle, 250cd/m2 brightness, 1500:1 static contrast ratio, and 10ms (on/off) response. The monitor supports 100% sRGB, 100% of BT.709, 100% AdobeRGB, 99% DCI-P3, 80% BT.2020 gamuts. Ports and connectors include 2 DisplayPort 1.2; 2 HDMI 2.0; 1 USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) plus 1 USB 3.0 Type-B (up); 1 USB Type-C (DisplayPort 1.2, power delivery up to 60 W2); 4 USB 3.0 (down, two side and two rear) 1.

The HP DreamColor Z24x G2 is a 24-inch monitor with a 1920×1200 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, 8-bit + FRC colour depth, 178o horizontal/vertical viewing angle, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and 6ms grey-to-grey response. It supports 100% sRGB, 100% BT.709, 99% Adobe RGB, User gamuts. Ports and connectors include 2 DisplayPort 1.2 (in/out); 1 HDMI 1.4; 1 DVI-D, plus 5 USB 3 (one up, four down).

The DreamColor range includes the following features:

  • Precise image quality from any viewing angle.
  • Reliable and accurate color with an advanced built-in colorimeter capable of measuring and adjusting on-screen performance automatically or at scheduled intervals or on demand.
  • Workflow accelerating features that allow users to create in Cinema 4K resolution, view in True 2K, and speed projects from concept to completion with onscreen markers and keyboard-based input switching between devices.

The HP DreamColor Z24x G2 Display is expected in early July, priced $559.00, while the HP Z31x DreamColor Studio Display is set to be available later this year for $3,999.00.
