Huge Steam Discount Sees RDR2 (PC) Have More Players Than it’s (Probably) Had Before!

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PC a little over three years ago, and despite a somewhat rocky start (thanks to the Rockstar Launcher which, in many cases, stubbornly refused to boot the game until a patch arrived about a month later) it is now widely praised as a fantastic port of what was already a fantastic game.

As noted above though, while initially only released on PC via the Rockstar Launcher, it did eventually land on Steam but a fair time after the initial hype began to die down. – Following the latest figures from SteamDB, however, it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently undergoing a bit of a huge resurgence as it has just recorded its highest concurrent player count ever!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is Booming Again on PC!

The initial record was unsurprisingly set when Red Dead Redemption 2 was first released on Stream back in December 2019 with just over 55,000 people concurrently playing the title. Over the last weekend, however, it seems that people have either been making a return to the title (for reasons unclear) or perhaps it is something to do with the far more likely factor that Stream currently has a huge discount on RDR2 with it currently available for just £18.14.

Admittedly though, given the fact that it was originally exclusively launched on the Rockstar Launcher, it’s hard to say whether this sale has seen RDR2 on PC hit its overall concurrent peak player count. Steam doesn’t, of course, include those figures.

Any way you look at it though, RDR2 is (apparently) back. Even if Rockstar Games is apparently done with the title now (including its online multiplayer).

Worth A Play?

As noted above, while RDR2 had some huge problems on its initial release, the Steam version is incredibly solid and for just £18.14, if you’ve never played this before, I can promise that you’ll be getting some excellent value for money here. – If you do, therefore, want to learn more, you can check out its official Steam Store page via the link here!

I just hope this resurgence doesn’t see the real Colm O’Driscoll getting a new influx of angry Twitter messages again!
