Humble Bundle TellTale Sale – Your Wallet Will Remember That

Humble Bundle Launches Multi-Platform Funding Program

Have you sufficiently recovered from the Steam Sale? Didn’t buy too much did you? Actually got around to playing anything you bought yet? Well, sorry, but you might be about to be made a little bit poorer as the charity gaming website Humble Bundle is offered TellTale games for sale. Your wallet will remember that!

Humble Bundle and TellTale?… I can’t cope with these sales!

I know, me too, but here we go none the less. Similar to as I’ve done before, I’m going to let you know what you get in each tier and more importantly, if it’s worth it.

$1 or more – The ‘because I can’t afford to not have this!’ tier

This is what you get in this entry-level tier.

Humble Bundle

Points in brief – Sam and Max season 1 and 2 and Season 1 of the Walking Dead, for $1 is almostly offensively cheap. Even if you already owned 1, the $1 price makes that more than ok. While the others are clearly filler, there are is still some ‘alright’ about it.

$8.36 or more, The ‘I might need to take out a 2nd mortgage!’ tier

A little bit more hit and miss here. Tales from the Borderlands I found boring (clearly in the minority here based on the Steam reviews). The Walking Dead Michonne and Game of Thrones I also felt were well below par. However, Season 2 of the Walking Dead is excellent and the 50% off New Fontier might make this worth it to you.

$15 or more – The ‘I might be homeless, but I’ve got 982 games in my Steam Library’ tier

Yes, I know Humble Bundle is for charity, but I’m just going to say it. This top-tier isn’t worth it. In a very bizarre way, either Humble Bundle or TellTale games decided to add some of their most mediocre titles to the top end tier. Sorry, but I’d say this just isn’t worth it. You have enough quality without needing to take this step down.

Is this Humble Bundle worth it?

Yes, but only until the 2nd tier. Sorry Humble Bundle. Sorry Telltale. Sorry to the charities. The $15 tier to me just just reflect value. It reflects newer, mediocre titles and it simply isn’t worth taking it that far. You have more than enough quality before that. In fact, taking it a step further, the $1 tier destroys the $15 tier, MASSIVELY.

I reported last week on the Capcom Rising Humble Bundle and in comparison I think you will agree, that bundle reflected much better value.

Here is the link to the Humble Bundle website. Go check it out for yourself and if you can, at least buy into the 2nd tier. It is, after all, for charity.
