HyperX Gaming Peripherals Review – Work and Gaming!

How Much Does it Cost?

  • HyperX Cloud Flight S – £131.28
  • HyperX Chargeplay Base – £44.99
  • HyperX Alloy Origins Mechanical Keyboard – £79.99
  • HyperX Pulsefire Raid Gaming Mouse – £59.99

Overview

HyperX has some serious gaming pedigree, having created many multi-award-winning products over the years. Back in the day, the original Cloud headset was THE best damn thing since sliced bread. They still uphold that same premium performance and build quality they were first known for.

As an ecosystem, they’re products really jam together very well, both in terms of features and aesthetics. I tested a bunch of MSI stuff a while back and not one thing appeared to match. However, while these aren’t sold as a bundle, it’s clear they were all designed to complement each other.

Build Quality

It’s fantastic, and obviously the keyboard is the front runner with its mostly aluminium design, fully detachable USB C cable and those lovely RGB mechanical switches. It’s a keyboard done the right way and it shows, it’s a product they can be proud of.

The headset is pretty special too, and while it does use a lot of plastics, that’s done to keep the weight down. Of course, that’s common for a headset, and they’ve still given it a matching premium look and feel. Those “clicky” pivot locks get a big thumbs up too.

The mouse is light but plenty durable. It’ll suffer being battered around for years, I’m sure. I love that the LMB and RMB are mounted on individual springs and panels too, spot on.

The charger, well, that’s just great too. Soft-touch rubber coated, a hard-wearing rubber protective ring to protect things like your phone from scratches, and that’s about it really.

Performance

The style of all of these products is on point. Everything is matching, everything is blacked out and looks pretty stealthy. The build quality is excellent, with USB C cables, braiding, wireless charging, etc. However, when it comes down to it, for a few hours of typing reviews each day, and twice that running raids on Ebonheart and Covenant scum in ESO, I can’t praise HyperX enough. Highly recommend every part of this setup on their own or together.
