I-O Data unveils password protected USB flash drive

I-O Data Japan has recently launched a new USB flash drive with some particular security features; the TB-PW.
In addition to the ‘mainstream’ 128-bit AES encryption found on most secure drives, this drive not only asks directly for the password as soon as it is inserted into the computer, but in order to facilitate its use around a familiar environment, three computer can be selected as ‘favourites’ so that when plugged in, no password is asked.
This is certainly a useful feature that allows your file to remain confidential even in the case of loss.
Further more, the QuickSecureAES feature, in addition to encrypting your data, allows you to delete your files without leaving any traces.
Available in 4GB and 8GB capacities, it’s equipped with a USB 2.0 interface and will be available in Japan starting January 2012. Prices haven’t been given yet.
