In terms of pricing, it’s very difficult to give a fair approximation as to whether the ID-Cooling ICEFAN 240 is good or not. Basically, because there isn’t much around to compare it to and, in terms of demand, there aren’t many people who desperately need a product like this in their PC system.
With a confirmed price of $34.99 for the Snow Edition, ($29.99 for the standard black), therefore, this is something you are going to have to judge for yourself. – Yes, you can certainly buy two individual fans that’ll likely cost a little bit less, but will they look as slick as this block set-up? Will the RGB really shine as hard as it does here? – For this money? We doubt it!
With some bright and vivid ARGB lighting effects, the ID-Cooling ICEFAN 240 really seems to represent an excellent aesthetic (and likely performance) upgrade on your existing 240mm AIO radiator fans. Sadly though, I suspect that this is pretty much the sole aspect of where the market appeal would begin and end as, for system case fans, you’d likely be better looking at individual designs rather than one of the ‘block’ kits. Being set as a 240mm design, you’re just a little bit too limited to likely be able to truly get the best of this anywhere else.
Putting those restrictions to one side, however, I wish there were more products like the ID-Cooling ICEFAN 240. Why? Well, on the whole, for AIO designs, this fan set-up makes a lot more sense and it surely couldn’t cost that much more to produce. – If I had a 240mm AIO, I think I’d use the ICEFAN 240 on it because in terms of cable management and presentation, it’s just simply a lot better than the vast majority of pre-supplied fans you get!
The ID-Cooling ICEFAN 240 will only have a relatively limited market. Specifically, for those who own 240mm AIO coolers (well, radiators) and want a fan system that just looks (and performs) better. In that regard, this really would make a pretty fantastic upgrade option not only in terms of aesthetics, but on the more down to earth fact that with it’s hugely simplified cable system, installation of this is an absolute doddle.
Again, I can’t see this as being a product for all, but if you’re desperate for something to give your AIO cooler a fresh lease of life and a kick in the pants in terms of visuals, this could well prove to the perfect solution for you!
