iGame Z370 Vulkan Motherboard Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

With an MSRP of around £220 the iGame Vulkan Z370 Gaming Motherboard isn’t exactly cheap. Of course, the price is easily on par with many other high-end motherboards, so it’s not like it’s overpriced. The only issue I have is that stock is very limited here in the UK, so please check with your favourite retailers for up to date stock and pricing.

Overview

The iGame Z370 Vulkan is one seriously cool motherboard and one of the more unique designs on the market too. It’s not so outrageous in terms of aesthetics that it really stands out from the crowd. However, the design on the motherboard, the heatsink shape, and the colour choices are different enough to tempt those wanting a more aggressive looking gaming system.

The build quality is pretty fantastic too, the whole thing feels chunky and durable. It does lack armour on the main slots, but that’s hardly a deal breaker. However, it would have been nice to see them follow that market trend at this price range. There’s plenty of RGB lighting options though, which is great for customisation.

Performance

Without a doubt, this is one of the fastest gaming motherboards on the market today. I find that quite surprising too, as it was a bit better than average when it comes to general benchmarks. Of course, better than average is a good place to be. However, when it came to gaming performance, the Vulkan blazed an impressive trail, and anyone buying this for a high-end gaming build will no be left disappointed.

Added Value

With a pair of M.2 drive mounts, as well as Optane support, and a single M.2 heat shield, your fast storage needs are easily catered for here. The comprehensive connectivity on the rear I/O is also welcome for those who have a large number of peripheral devices. Cool design features such as the I/O shroud, M.2 shield, and those chunky VRM heatsinks all add up to a quality product and really help justify the retail price. A great set of on-board controls, as well as easily switched dual BIOS are welcome, as is the powerful ALC1150 on-board audio.

Should I Buy One

In the UK, it’s hard to not look at Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS, etc, as they’re more established in this market. However, the iGame is hardly lacking in features and performance, and can easily go head-to-head with what anyone else is selling. If you can find stock and get a price as close to £200 as possible, you’re going to love what this motherboard has to offer.

Pros

  • Dual M.2 mounts with 1 x heatsink
  • High-quality VRM cooling design
  • Built-in rear I/O guard
  • High-end ALC1150 Realtek Audio (8-channel)
  • RGB lighting customisation
  • Dual BIOS
  • On-board controls and overclocking features
  • PS2 ports for eSports gamers
  • Killer E2500 LAN
  • Unique aesthetics
  • Superb gaming performance

Cons

  • No armour on PCIe or DIMM slots on a £200+ motherboard?
  • Limited availability
