Iiyama G-Master Red Eagle GB2766HSU Monitor Review

A Closer Look

As you can see, the monitor is certainly attractive, and it’s going to look great sitting in your gaming setup, home office, or wherever you put it really. Its clean and tidy design makes it well suited to a lot of spaces, and that’s nice, as some modern gaming monitors do seem to try a little too hard to stand out.

The bezel is nice and slim on the sides and top, meaning it’ll be great for multi-monitor configurations. That, and it just looks good too, making the screen feel that little bit bigger. There’s a slightly thicker edge on the bottom, but even there it’s still pretty minimal, and there’s just a small iiyama logo in the middle of that.

The actual monitor is relatively slim too. Of course, its total depth is somewhat increased by the fact that it is curved, so if trying to flush mount on a wall, remember it’ll bend out at the sides a little. That being said, the added immersion this provides is worth it.

The stand is really nice too, nothing innovative or crazy, but it’s a nice size, well-weighted and feels pretty durable. The stand allows for 18° up; 5° down adjustment. It also allows for a good range of height adjustment, from low down, it’ll move 130mm up!

Around the back, things are looking nice and tidy, with a lightly textured black plastic, and a few glossy lines pressed into it to give it some added style. The stand back is pretty slim, so you can push the monitor fairly close to a wall if you desk against one. There’s a small power button and analogue nub on this side, making OSD navigation a breeze. Plus, a Kensington lock on the other side so you can secure it to your desk.

There’s a good range of connectivity here too, with dual HDMI ports, a Display Port, and a twin USB port hub fed from the Type-B cable that’s included in the box. The monitor uses a standard 3-pin cable too, so there’s no external power brick to deal with.
