Infinity: Battlescape Has Just Received Its First Mod

It’s true that Infinity: Battlescape has still not met its Kickstarter goal just yet, but this hasn’t stopped an eager fan to create an impressive mod for the upcoming massively multiplayer online space sim. The mod in question alters the ship’s blaster sounds to something that sounds more like a Star Wars weapon, and it also adds a new camera perspective. Furthermore, it changes the atmosphere of some planets in order to provide more realism and immersion, and judging by what I’ve seen so far, this is some pretty impressive work. It’s worth noting that most of the planets in the game are almost completely barren, which means that they don’t feature cities or other noteworthy landmarks. However, being able to fly above the surface of a fully detailed planet is definitely something to look forward to.

A YouTube user named “Planet Explorer” has recently posted a video that showcases the mod’s most important features. At the time of writing, the game’s Kickstarter campaign has just four more days to go and still needs about $30,000 in order to reach its goal. Hopefully, some deep-pocketed space-sim fans will be able to donate enough of their money in order to make sure that Infinity: Battlescape receives the funding that it deserves.
