Insomniac Leak Reveals How Much Bluepoint’s Games Sold
Bluepoint’s closure surprised many. Sony canceled its live service God of War project, then shut the studio down, despite its strong record.
Because of this, many people looked back at the sales results of Bluepoint’s previous games. The numbers come from material found in the 2024 Insomniac leak, and they show a very positive picture.
A Small Team With Strong Results
Before looking at the numbers, it is important to remember that Bluepoint was a relatively small studio compared to other PlayStation Studios. At its peak, the company reportedly had around 70 to 80 employees, with that number increasing in recent years.
This means the studio did not need huge sales to break even. Sales figures like those of the Demon’s Souls remake or the Uncharted Collection should be considered very good, likely with solid profit margins. It is also worth noting that not all the projects listed were fully developed only by Bluepoint.
Here are the reported sales figures:
- Demon’s Souls Remake (PS5) – 1.4 million copies
- Shadow of the Colossus Remake (PS4) – 1.2 million copies
- Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PS4) – 2.9 million copies
- Gravity Rush (PS4) – 562,000 copies
- Flower (PS4/PS Vita) – 428,000 copies
- PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS Vita) – 125,000 copies
- ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection (PS3) – 360,000 copies
- God of War Collection (PS3) – 455,000 copies
- Blast Factor (PS3) – 128,000 copies
The total comes to 7.6 million copies sold.
These are not small numbers, especially for a team that mainly worked on co-development projects and remakes. Bluepoint was never given the chance to create a completely original game that truly matched its strengths.
