Intel 311 and 510 series SSDs get the chop this autumn

Intel’s EOL (End Of Life) is a dreaded status for any item. It essentially means Intel will stop producing it and then stop shopping it. In the longer term it essentially means the product is no longer considered new and is going out of date. Intel has decided to retire these olders SSDs in favour of the newer 313 and 520 series solid state drives based off the latest 25nm NAND flash process. The 311 series and 510 series both use 34nm NAND flash which is getting on a bit for the SSD market. Intel has said that the 311 and 510 series SSDs will be available for ordering until June 7th and will continue shipping up till September 7th of this year.
