Intel Arc B570 Battlemage Early Tests Reveal 12% Lower Performance Compared to B580

Intel‘s new Arc B570 “Battlemage” graphics card is set to launch officially on January 15, 2025. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the B580, this card aims to cater to the mid-range GPU market with optimized specifications and a lower price tag.
Performance Benchmarks and Specifications
Based on the Xe2-HPG architecture, the B570 is a slightly scaled-down version of the B580. Recent benchmarks from Geekbench’s OpenCL database reveal the B570 achieves a score of 86,716, roughly 12 percent lower than the B580, which scores between 95,000 and 100,000. Despite this, the card presents an attractive balance of performance and price.
The B570 features 144 compute units, a 10 GB GDDR6 memory on a 160-bit bus, and a die size of 272 mm². It has a base clock of 2,500 MHz, with boost clocks reaching up to 2.75 GHz, especially in custom editions from Intel’s AIB partners. The card will be priced at 219 dollars, making it an affordable option in the mid-range category compared to the 249 dollars B580.
Market Position and Competitiveness
Performance comparisons place the B570 slightly below NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 (101,732 OpenCL score) and above AMD’s RX 7600 XT (83,918 OpenCL score), making it competitive among similarly priced alternatives.
The B570 promises to deliver good value for gamers and users looking for an economical mid-range GPU. Along with the rest of the Battlemage series, Intel aims to solidify its presence in the GPU market with more high-performance models expected in the future.
