The wait is finally over, at least if you’re one of the people who have been waiting for Intel‘s latest Core processors, codenamed Coffee Lake. Intel has officially launched their 8th generation Core processors and Overclockers UK announced they have them in stock.
Every generation brings new features and that’s no different for Coffee Lake CPUs. Among the new features is the Per-Core-Overclocking as well as a maximum memory ratio up to 8400 MT/s. We also get real-time memory latency control, extended PLL trim controls, and an enhanced package power delivery. According to Intel, Coffee Lake chips are also superior when it comes to overclocking abilities. Whether that’s correct or not will be shown through independent reviews. Lucky for you, we have a whole list of fresh reviews that are live now.
8th Generation Core Models
Intel released six new processors in this series and they’re all available now. Each category gets a locked and an unlocked version as you can see below. From four cores to six hyperthreaded cores should offer something for everyone.
Intel Highlighted Features
The 8th generation Intel Core processors deliver an experience that five-year-old systems can’t handle. Virtual Reality is naturally among that, but not solely. The abilities when gaming is another aspect highlighted for Coffee Lake. While that isn’t a surprise as Intel Core always had gamers as a target audience, it’s nice to get the confirmation.
Long gone are the days where a 1080 Full-HD resolution was enough. Today, we’re dealing with 4K UHD content and 8K isn’t too far in the future. Last but not least, Intel is proud of its silicon protection too; highlighting the built-in hardware-based security with the goal of online and offline peace of mind.
Availability and Pricing
All six new processors are available now, for example at Overclockers UK. We don’t know the UK prices at the time of writing, but we do know the recommended price in USD. The 8700K 8700, 8600K, 8400, 8350K, and 8100 will set you back $359, £303, $257, $182, $168, and $117 respectively.
