Intel Confirms the BMG-G31 “Big Battlemage” GPU
The excitement in the discrete graphics card market continues to grow with Intel’s official confirmation of its new BMG-G31 GPU, also known as “Big Battlemage.”
This confirmation came through a recent update in Intel’s VTune Profiler (thanks OC3D), the company’s code optimization tool. This update is a strong sign that Intel’s next generation of graphics cards is coming soon.
The BMG-G31 promises a major boost in performance. Reports indicate that this new GPU is 60% larger than the BMG-G21 chip used in the current ARC B580 model. This increase in size should translate directly into more processing power, aiming to deliver high-end gaming performance.
Rumored Specifications and Expected Launch
According to early leaks, the “Big Battlemage” could feature a 256-bit memory bus and up to 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. It is also expected to support the PCIe 5.0 standard, offering cutting-edge data transfer speeds.
Intel’s new GPU might make its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, which will be held in January. Alongside this release, Intel is likely to showcase other key products, such as the highly anticipated Intel Core “Panther Lake” processors.
It is also likely that Intel plans to release the BMG-G31 not only for gaming but also for the professional market under its PRO line.
